Caution:
- Some countries listed here have a bantu minority (example: Central African Republic) and others, a bantu majority (example: Namibia).
- The status of a language (official, national...) is a political fact! It doesn't necessarely reflect the real situation. Note also that "official" may not always be the term used to qualify the status of a language in a country, or a constitution may just mention a language without giving a status.
- When no language has been given a status following the official one, I simply mention the main ones (in use). So all the languages are not listed here (far from it!).
- When a language is italics that means it is not a Bantu one.
